An ISO audit at the Pechatnya printing house
The Pechatnya printing house was visited by representatives of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). During the 2-day stay the delegation was to assess production, internal processes, procedures, raw materials and finished products.
The ISO auditors' visit was planned and this was their second visit as a part of the printing house's quality management system ISO 9001:2008, ISO 22000:2005. The delegation was greeted by the employees of the Quality Control department of the Pechatnya printing house.
The area of audit included the offset printing of cardboard packaging for the food industry use. The auditors met with designers, technological supervisors, noted the implementation of hot stamping and stencil UV-lacquering technologies, visited carving, cutting and gluing areas. Close attention was paid to all processes involving food packaging as the packaging used in the food industry has to fully comply with the sanitary and environmental standards.
The auditors also checked the printing house's compliance with the legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements and fulfillment of its obligations to its customers.
By the end of the assessment the auditors suggested a number of improvements that will be analyzed and, if confirmed, will be made.
